Reddit is a social platform organized into thousands of topic-specific communities called subreddits. With over 50 million daily active users, it generates an enormous volume of authentic, unfiltered human discussion on virtually every topic imaginable.

What makes Reddit uniquely valuable as a data source is the depth of conversation. Unlike social platforms optimized for short-form content, Reddit threads often contain detailed product reviews, technical troubleshooting, industry debates, and candid opinions that people would not share under their real names. The voting system surfaces the most useful contributions.

Reddit's API provides programmatic access to posts, comments, and subreddit metadata. Combined with AI processing, this data becomes a real-time window into what real people actually think about products, companies, and trends.

I use Reddit because it is the closest thing to unfiltered public opinion at scale. When a client wants to understand how their product is perceived, what pain points their customers face, or what their competitors are doing wrong, Reddit discussions are more honest than any survey or focus group.

The subreddit structure is particularly useful for targeting. Instead of sifting through the entire internet, I can focus on the exact communities where a client's audience lives.
